What are some of the odd things you guys do at your schools or local areas as far as tuba players go ? I know the weirdest, but probably the most amazing thing I've done as a tuba was when we had a retreat after a marching contest and about 75-100 tuba players formed a circle on the 50 yard line and linked arms and swayed while singing kumbaya, then one of the other schools tubas ran out and placed a mini butter churn in the center. Then commenced the praising of the butter churn and afterwards the circle condensed into a blob of bouncing tuba players chanting 'tuba'.
