Iām a high school senior and have been playing tuba since sixth grade, and just recently finished all my college auditions. I was wondering if it is common for pieces that go really high like the Gregson and Vaughn Williams Concertos to be played on Bb tuba, because I played the first movement of the Gregson concerto on a Bb miraphone for my auditions. Was also wondering what the general range of a professional Tubist on a Bb instrument looks like.
