Impacts of Substances on SA Results
Post Body

TTC #1 since late 2022. Not even a squinter at this point. I’ve had a positive test (many years ago) which ended in an early MC.

My spouse (27m) is sending his sample out for testing on Friday, so we obviously don’t know any of the numbers at this point, but after meeting with a fertility specialist, we’re pretty solid in a couple different paths depending on what comes back.

My question is, since women are born with all the eggs they’ll ever release, and sperm live/are released/die/are created new, does anyone have any idea what impacts different substances may have on the little guys… or how long they may last?

My spouse has a past history of drug abuse (clean for several years, excepting tobacco/marijuana/alcohol). He stopped using tobacco about six to nine months ago, cut WAY back on drinking and finally gave that up (almost two weeks without any alcohol at all), and still occasionally uses THC/CBD gummies to help him sleep (maybe 1-2 times a week).

I’m just curious what residual effects we might be able to anticipate (if any,) and if the time it’d take to combat them might be worth the delay in our TTC journey.
