I started my period last night after a failed IUI cycle. We have been TTC for 3 and 1/2 years. All tests and bloodwork have come back normal. I opted for an unmonitoired home OPK test cycle the first time because I have normal, regular cycles with positive ovulation tests each cycle. Took clomid CD3-7, had positive ovulation test on CD18, did IUI on CD19. Confirmed ovulation with progesterone blood test 7 days after IUI. Husbands numbers were good for the insemination. The nurse recommended upping my Clomid dosage and doing a monitored cycle this month so ensure the increased clomid doesn't make me produce too many follicles. I don't understand why, but I am hesitant on the whole thing this go around. Insurance is covering our fertility treatments so the financial side of this isn't a huge issue. I just don't understand why I'm so hesitant on something that I've wanted for such a long time!
I'm gonna give it a shot (no pun intended)🤣. I'm hoping for the best with it. I go for my first monitoring appt on December 15th!
My first cycle I did 50mg of Clomid. I didn't have a positive OPK until cycle day 18, did the IUI on 19 and ended up having a 32 day cycle, which is just slightly longer than a regulation cycle for me. I'm nervous about the trigger shot this go around.

It's not completely paid for. Just covered like any other medical treatments. I guess I'm just taking the first failure a little harder than I expected. I'm used to natural cycles and timed intercourse not working. Just not medically assisted cycles.
