Opened an account online a few weeks ago, did some external transfers from a Chase account to fund it. Woke up today to the account restricted, gave the provided number a call, went through several departments to be told there were no comments/reasoning alongside the restriction, and that the only way to clear this up would be to go through a branch. Feeling quite frustrated by this, I asked if there was any way to close the account and have my funds mailed to me in the form of a check, just to be told, "That type of request could be considered as fraud in this bank, so I suggest going to the branch if you were to consider closing your account later on."
This interaction seemed jarring to me, considering there's no reasoning or comments for the restriction, and the inability for customer service to help me with a brand-new account.
