Let be honest here, American music suck. It nothing more than beat and voice enhancement software. Lalaladididada exist in most American music lyrics. You don't even need to be a great composer to make good American music. American singers are only popular because American music is popular. Lip syncing is part of most American singers. Many singers can't sing without these device. Famous singers like Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, and etc...
Even an average American singers will get more views on Youtube than great singers from other country simply for the fact that English is the easiest language to learn in the world. That doesn't mean American Singers are more talented than the rest of the world, it just mean more people understand English than any other language. Where you compare American singers to Vietnamese, French, Korean, in terms of difficulty, they don't even come close. Take the music WAP for example, its not even real music, just a bunch of strings pluck together.
Hmm, yes. Kanye makes most of his money from his Yeezus and other ventures. Taylor earns more year-by-year though.
Her merch could be better, yes. It is good in the sense that it captures the atmosphere of the album but yeah, it's mainly just T-shirts, bottles and phone cases. It's just now that she did some ornaments stuff. Could be better tho.
I agree with the first half. Her merch, though I'd hate to say so isn't great quality and isn't that much value-for-money. It is rumoured that she's overhauling her merch department for the next rerecorded album. She hopefully does so. The merch is getting better, but not quite as good. The others are ridiculously overpriced, particularly Eilish. But yeah, that doesn't excuse expensive merch. It's all just bonus money at the end of the day.
She makes more money than him but she doesn't foray into other stuff out of choice. She did a few perfumes, shoes, but for the last several years, she hasn't done anything. Her reason for that was that she, being a musician wants to remain a musician and not get involved with such things to not waste her brain capacity on such things, instead to just focus on music.
I think she actively doesn't try to do it because she doesn't want to be associated with such stuff. Like Kanye, he is known for a lot of things other than music. She wants her brand to project her as a musician, as she is. Then there's the whole thing of competition, endorsement deals, your lyrics may be construed as endorsement, all that. So to keep it plain and simple, she didn't.
The folklore hoodies cost between 40 and 50. Not sooo much. Dua Lipa, Eilish and other pop stars sell stuff for a lot more. And Kanye, his fans do buy his merch, but it's no way near as much as Taylor sells, or many other famous singers. Hate that guy.
But the album thing, I agree with. But it's just different photos. The content is the same. Capitalism, you know.
Well, no one buys Kanye merch. Also, her goodies and sweaters were made in collaboration with Stella McCartney. So the Lover era merch was a little more expensive than normal. The average merch cost is 28.71 USD.
Her merch is well priced. At least less than that of others in the industry.

It's not as much making a quick buck as it is doing it just because it's expected and then not putting the effort into it.
That's taking it a bit too far but I can agree with some of what you said. Mainly, it takes long to deliver, the material and fabric isn't good and the designs, not so good but saying that it's the shittiest merch ever it's too much. Many other stars have worse, but that doesn't mean that it's fine that her merch isn't good. Otherwise, yeah.
