I’m not his biggest fan. Didn’t vote for him, don’t approve of him, think he’s a uniquely awful human being (and my post history will confirm that I am not a fan of his in case someone decides to accuse me of being disingenuous here).

But he is 100% correct that the debt ceiling needs to be eliminated. Congress’s main job is to pass a budget. The debt ceiling only serves as an obstacle to getting a budget, and there are already too many obstacles to legislation (bicameral Congress, senate filibusters, partisan gridlock). The Congress is already the most dysfunctional part of government. I am in favor of removing an obstacle like the debt limit that only serves to permit extreme minorities to have an outsized impact.
