Your feelings about the situation in the Middle East/Ukraine DO NOT justify a third party vote this election.

I’ve seen many of my friends talk about voting for an independent this year because they disagree with Kamala’s refusal to acknowledge the atrocities occurring around the world on our dime. Listen, man. I feel for ya. Everyone has an issue that matters to them enough to sway their vote, so I understand the frustration that comes with candidates overlooking what appears to be a crimson red flag.

I’d also like to clarify that for those who are either directly or indirectly affected by the war (family/friendly ties), I’m not saying your feelings themselves aren’t justified. I ain’t proud to cast my vote either. These people in power have been taking advantage of my people and their land for centuries, and nobody’s even come close to mentioning change. But please take more time to consider your fellow citizens, because those situations aren't on the ballot in this election. Unfortunately, the last three elections have had to be squarely focused on "anyone but Trump." Yes, the bar is in hell, but there will almost certainly never be a candidate who supports 100% of your values, so this won’t be the first or last time where we have to overlook certain things when voting.

To those who dont have family ties to these places, ya REALLY need to stfu and take the L right now. It’s just selfish to look at something happening on the other side of the world and consider it justifiable to cast a protest vote that could potentially put a full blown insurrectionist back in the White House. There’s a clear prioritization issue or naivety if you think some third party candidate is going to magically win 270 electors. Maybe if we started pushing them 3 years ago… but that’s still a reach. At this point, I consider it a throw away vote and you’re basically okay with giving the presidency to Trump, especially if you’re voting in one of the many states that just barely went for Biden in 2020. Either that or you truly underestimate the value of voting outside of like NY and Cali.

I’m not excited to vote for Kamala. I don’t think she’s worthy of going down in history as our first Madame President, and I hate the fact that after being so unlikeable, I’m having to play apologist for her… but be fuckin adults, man. This isn’t 2016 where a protest vote is understandable because there’s like 3 critical policies that revolve around the state of the citizens IN YOUR COUNTRY. This 2024, where our options are to vote for someone who supports a war that’s been going on for decades involving a longtime ally of the US or vote for a man whose danger is no longer up for debate. We know exactly the type of threat he poses, and it’s not like he’s even against the war anyway! You can still spread awareness without using it against a person who really isn't in a position to just flat out condemn a whole ally nation.

I have no real solution here, but if it really matters that much to you, then get involved in your local elections and take next four years to make sure your senators and other elected officials are against the war, so you can either primary her in 2028 or force her hand by overwhelming her with officials who stand by this specific issue.

Really not tryina argue here. Not because I think don't think there are valid reasons to dislike Kamala. Ive provided safe spaces for my friends to vent their frustration about having to support her, because I get it. There’s just no argument you could give me that would justify supporting an independent this year. Same as 2020. SNS. We got way bigger fish to fry. Suck it up and do the leg work for 2026-28.

Sounds like blackmail with extra steps but okay.
