No, not about that other shit. I donāt know much about Elon Musk, but I recently saw a post (didnāt fact check it) claiming that he intends to charge new users a small fee, possibly cents, just to be able to enable posting on Twitter.
Assuming itās really under a dollar, and that the fee is only paid once, thatās a fantastic idea in my opinion.
Iāve seen so many posts talking about the ādead internetā theory and how Reddit and other sites are supposedly like 80% bots.
Well, thereās your fix! You donāt necessarily need to identify yourself and hand that info out to a corporation, and suddenly out of millions upon millions of bot accounts, the only ones left will be the ones theyāre willing to pay for.
I can see other issues arising from this, like how rich people would be better able to amass bots, but for a start that seems like a solid solution to verifying that you have mostly real users.
