I'm not old at all. I'm smack in the middle of being a millenial. I entered the dating pool right as dating apps were born.
So I got to experience dating life before them and at their inception. It was better before. More focused on getting to know people. More human.
That sort of energy carried into dating apps initially but over time the apps created a society of people increasingly jaded and shallow about love, sex and relationships.
Now gen z is probably one of the most shallow generations. Its a bit sad to see so many of them posting online about giving up on it entirely.
