I'm sure this may be a popular opinion but squatter's do not deserve rights. While I have sympathy for those who became homeless because of unforeseeable circumstances, it does not give you to the right to take over someone's property, and call it your own. The law surrounding squatters in many states are even more ridiculous, how did state governments make it so that the legal owners of the property are basically screwed, even to the point that law enforcement can't do anything. I am genuinely surprised we don't have a bigger squatting issue in the United States.
