I know it's illegal in the US for insurance companies to require physical exams, but it's absurd that the only thing my premium is based on is my age and whether or not I smoke. The fact that I'm in good shape because I am very active and eat healthy means I never go to the doctor. Yet my premium is huge. Just the same as if I were a 400 lb slob.
It's bullshit that I have to subsidize the unhealthy lifestyles of people who just don't give a shit about their health.
EDIT: For some reason a lot of people seem to think I advocate coverage denial for anyone who has any medical problem at all. Not sure where that comes from, but to be clear: I only refer to preventable, objectively measure able risks. Such as BMI. Just like smoking.
