“Circling the Hands” - I started wailing after about 5 minutes and I still can’t relax...

I was feeling anxious so I found the “circling the hands” exercise on YouTube. After about 6 minutes of circling, I start crying. Then, wailing. All for about 12 to 15 minutes.

It’s been an hour since I stopped crying but I now feel even lower than I did before. I’m more anxious than before... I expected to feel better.

I’m fairly certain I did the exercise correct... Is this reaction normal?
