I lost my Dad earlier this year and it's been the most difficult battle of my life.

My step mom, who I have a very good relationship with, lost her soulmate. The person she built a life with. Now she's in his house alone with no one: no other family, no kids, nothing.

My mom wants me to spend Christmas with her, but am I just supposed to leave my step mom out to dry and never see her again because Dad's gone? We planned Christmas together earlier this year so I don't know why my plans would just magically change now... my mom wants me with her, which I understand. She even told me that I'd be choosing non-blood over blood if I decided to spend Christmas with my step mom.

It's such a sh*tty and stressful position to be in honestly and I hate it. I'm just here to get if off my chest.
