Me (25f) and my dad (50m) have a rocky relationship. He kicked me out when I was 18 and since then we’ve been working in on relationship. I moved to New York when I was 20 and haven’t seen him since. We used to talk at least once a week. And now nothing. I called him today and he was home sick so had the time. But then goes “oh hey, my friend came over I gotta go”. Like I get you have company but you never talk to me anymore. I’m so tired of feeling not important to you. Im your fucking child. Im a grown ass adult. I want you in my life but you don’t seem to want me in yours. You never speak to me anymore.

For example I recently got a really great job. And I have business cards (dumb, but a big deal tome) I sent a picture and never got a response from him. That was 2 months ago. Today was the first time I heard from him.

I know I sound like a child who just wants her dads approval but ffs are you not proud of me?
