I think this job stopped me from getting another job.
Post Body

Let me explain. I had 2 job interviews on the same day with the same company, just in different locations. One was at 10am, it was further away from where I live & only offered $14.75 an hour, the other was at 1pm, it closer to where I live & offered $15.20 an hour.

I got offered both jobs but accepted the one that offered $15.20 an hour. I emailed the other place that offered $14.75 an hour because they emailed me requesting I do some onboarding stuff. This is what I emailed: Good Afternoon, Unfortunately I will not be able to accept the job offer at this time. I just had an interview with another (company name) at 1pm & they offered me a position & I am going to accept their offer. Thank you for your time & the job offer. I hope you find another candidate soon.

The lady responded: Can you tell me what location?

I told her. I was a little worried, but I was just trying to be professional, and I just hoped she wasn't going to be evil & do anything behind my back. This is also a big company, so I hoped that the stores all didn't have personal relationships with one another. It's not like some small family franchise. This all happened on the same day as the interviews, which was this past Wednesday.

The location that offered me the job that I was going through with accepting, told me after the interview that HR would call me tomorrow to set up when I will come in for orientation. They never called.

I wake up this morning with an email from them saying they will move forward with other canidates. I was the perfect canidate, I'm a veteran, the lady interviewing me loved me, she kept smiling throughout our interview, they have this piece of paper where I am going to assume they rate your responses 0-3, 0 being the worst & 3 being the best, she gave me 3's for every one of my answers(so did the other interviewer, and I got offered both jobs, that's why I assume 3 is the best), I was willing to close on Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday, I had experience in the field, and ultimately I was offered the job already & I accepted it.

I really think it had something to do with the other location being evil & calling the other location & telling them not to hire me. Like I feel so stupid for telling them which location hired me. I should have just told them something very vague like "I got offered another job", that wouldn't have been a lie, it just would have been the vague truth. But now I know better.

I really hope if the other location is responsible for this that they get their karma. That's SO f'd up. To stop someone from getting a job just because you're mad they didn't choose you? They already have a job, it's not like me not accepting their offer was going to make them lose their job. Like everyone is out here trying to survive & they are really going to be a roadblock for someone like this jusr because they're mad?

Like I've been very stressed for weeks now trying to find a job and I've been able to relax because I got one. Now I'm back stressed & back to square one.

I have a phone interview this upcoming Monday with a company that would actually be a lot more fun to work at BUT it's a phone interview, I just feel a little iffy about it.

WOW as I'm typing this post another company just emailed me asking me for an in-person interview this Tuesday. Both upcoming job interviews are with companies I would prefer to work with over the company I was talking about in this post. I just need to get the job🤞🤞 AND keep it 🙄🙄
