So for context my mother has always been….interesting. We are currently living with her while we wait for my DH to get into the Air Force and she’s been bipolar ever since. One time she said that “I shouldn’t have brought the kids around if we were just going to rip them away from them” (I was pregnant with our oldest when we moved in a year ago).

Now my mother, who’s 63, barely talks to me but will be all happy and cheery with my DH’s best friend who also lives here. When she bring up the military she makes herself mad everytime then yells at me about it. Which brings us to now. My mother when I was pregnant with our son said that she would be helping with the kids even though I didn’t ask her to because my husband and I take care of them all the time. She’s only held our sons once and that was in the hospital. And she hasn’t held the kids at all. Idk why she said she would help yet distance herself. And the kicker? When we got our income tax she tried to tell us what to do with it even tho we had plans for it. I’ve dealt with her treating me like I’m 15 again for far too long. However I can’t set boundaries because “it’s her house and we have no say in anything”.
