When to attack and when to chain spells as Invoker?
Post Body

Relatively new to Invoker, I have about 40 games and I have the hang of most of the combos, so assume that I can make general combos work as Invoker. I recently played a game that made me think, when should I be right click attacking and when should I be using spells? I get that you should use the two in conjunction in most situations, but i'm speaking of a specific situation. Lets say I'm up against Monkey King; once he hits bkb he becomes hard to deal with since my spells don't work anymore. In a 1v1 encounter I can simply back up and wait it out, however in a team fight, it isn't as simple as there are other people to consider. While Monkey king is in his bkb, you can't do much except auto attack him with alacrity. Invoker's attack damage and speed is quite good with alacrity, but you aren't contesting the damage and lifesteal of a monkey king, in this situation if I were to run with ghost walk, I would be essentially leaving my team out to dry. However if I use ghostwalk to re-position to another part of the fight, I won't have an escape should the fight not go well for my team.

Lets change the scenario to Weaver. If I am able to catch him out like any other hero with tornado, is it worth using the combo? Without hex it seems rather difficult to be able to guarantee that you will actually be able to deal with him, before he ults.

This post is rather disorganized because I'm unable to properly grasp the issue I'm dealing with here, but any advice would be much appreciated. I also get that I've named some rather specific examples, but the dealing with BKB part is an issue I generally have.
