I've been playing Earth spirit and he's really fun; however, how do you deal with his sucky laning stage as a melee support hero, especially considering if you don't know who your offlaner will pick?

I know he crushes ganking and he's actually arguably at his strongest during the laning stage (in other lanes) but in his own lane, it seems like I usually lose it even when I'm blocking the enemy small camp and doing other typical support stuff. I'm in the crusader 3 bracket with only like 20 games total so far (with a 30-40% win rate). I watch a lot of earth spirit immortal guide videos and practice him quite a bit in demo too.

I would actually love to start playing him in ranked games but because of my not so good winrate with him in unranked games, I'm super skeptical.
