Creationist Ken Ham calls public libraries "dangerous places for kids"
Post Body

Link to article.

Speaking as a public librarian in the US and as an atheist, I am pleased to be (as a profession and an institution at large) in Ham's sights as an "enemy"! Educating people of all ages and backgrounds, on any subject, is a core part of what I do so being called "dangerous" by Ham is a badge of honor in my book.

Put in a simpler way: my German history professor in university had a book bag that read (translated) "Reading threatens idiocy". Although, libraries are so much more than just books!

What other professions or institutions have been called dangerous by Ham or others like him, but are only dangerous to indoctrination?

Do you have any stories of a library (public or not) leading you to new knowledge or entertainment?

Support your local library :)
