I have a Pennsylvania CDL with a Tanker endorsement. I have been a truck driver since 2020.
I went to PennDot a few weeks ago where first found out about the 'new' ELDT requirement for CDL. Training I must complete before doing the knowledge test. They told me I have to check the FMCSA website for a list of independent providers. The FMCSA lists hundreds in the area; and, several online.
However, I'm having a problem with the listings I have reviewed so far. Websites for online training look very scammy; very basic and unprofessional. While the programs I've seen for in-person training seem to all do the whole 160hr CDL training. And, again, I only need training for HazMat.
So, I wanted to know if anyone in the Greater Philadelphia Area has had experience getting only an ELDT endorsement course, online or in-person. And, if so, would you provide me with the name of a reputable school/provider? If you're from elsewhere in the US and have experience (not second hand knowledge) with an online provider, please suggest it.
Yes, I'll continue to look up schools and research on my own. This is question is part of the research.
Thank you in advance! And Happy Holidays! 🎄⛄🌲
