Why do drivers put red flags on the front of their truck?

I see drivers with them sometimes, and sometimes I dont. Just the 6 flags on the trailer. So does the red flags on the front of the truck mean anything if they already have 6 on the trailer? I would like to know cause I think it would look cool on the front of my truck when I get an over sized load. But I also dont want a ticket if that something I shouldn't be doing. I cant find much info on this topic online. Which is why I came to the subreddit. Hopefully some more experienced driver can give me some good info or at least point me in the right direction.

(I asked my company and they dont know.)
