When I first started driving when I was 16-20 I didn’t really care to help or accommodate for truckers. I would always be confused why they perform certain maneuvers. I’d be so annoyed when two trucks would be blocking the highway but I understand now that trucks need to pass people too, it’s just takes a little longer. And once they do pass don’t switch lanes to the right to pad the truck on the left, he’ll switch himself anyways.
Just went on a 8 hour drive and I realized this and it’s made me a lot more patient. Example bding don’t cut off a truck right in front of them. Yall gonna hate me for this but I’ve had made that mistake in the past and didn’t think it was a big deal till I realized trucks don’t break like normal vehicles. Same with turns, I try to stay behind the white line. And I saw a truck in the side of the road, and truck driving by switched to the left lane and back to the right after he passed. I can see this is for safety reasons.
I have a lot of respect for what truck drivers do. Without it our economy wouldn’t be possible. So I’m gonna try everything to accommodate truck drivers. Any more tips you guys I have I’d love to hear it.
lol I know truck sim is nothing compared to the real thing but I’m glad it’s made me a better driver.
Any tips for a driver of an f150 and I would love to hear it so I can help more truckers on the road (:
