Salute to all the hard-working truckers out there! I'm a local driver get paid by the hour. I keep hearing some of these big companies like Ward Trucking Estes Express I believe Old Dominion also just to name a few. They pay overtime after 45 50 55 hours versus the regular 40 hours or 8 hours a day. I guess this is how they get you you go on their website they usually offer higher hourly wage to attract you.
Me personally I'm a local flatbed driver work anywhere from 40 to 55 hours a week overtime after 40 I wish it was after 8:00.
So my question is how is this legal I thought overtime after 40 or 8 hours a day is the standard. What other industry has overtime after 45 50 and 55 hours? Why do truckers keep getting screwed? Why is it okay for truckers to work longer than everybody else and not get paid overtime like everybody else who works over 40? I just don't understand we need to unite demand Fair pay. We should be able to retire with pride and dignity take care of our families and children. There are guys in the office Brokers dispatchers some working from home making more than we are. Master Tradesman make 50 to 75 an hour some even more experience trucker should be treated just like a master of Tradesman. Am I the only one who has an issue with this? If somebody knows please explain how is it legal how?
