Anyone have any tips on how to axle out a single drive axle truck?
Post Body

I did a bit of research and I just wanted to confirm it was correct. I can have 12,000# on my steer, then 17,000# per drive/trailer axle allotting for a gross weight of 63,000#. It sounds like an ignorant question but I’ve never learned how to scale out my truck. This is mainly because I’ve never really needed to with the kind of freight I haul.

But today I got a little worried with my load, I swapped trailers with another driver and didn’t know how much weight was on the trailer so pulled into the CAT scale to see if I was legal. After getting my results, I realize I had absolutely no idea what I was looking at. Was I legal? I’m 95.3% sure I was, but didn’t have the time to do the research as my ten minute break was up. The axles on my trailer were all the way forward. If I slid them back a bit would have that put more weight on my drive axle?
