So I was looking at it recently and let's assume for a moment that the diamond mana isn't anymore than just colorless mana. So you cast it and maybe just maybe it nets you 4 cards. So you have potential discards to certain cards but is that super good? Wouldn't you rather just clear the board of threats with ulamog or play an oblivion stone for less mana. Menace and a what is it 12/12 beater is good I guess but let's run through the list of potential counters.

1 cmc such as the eggs and expedition map 2cmc such as sylvan scrying and pyroclasm 3 cmc oblivion stone No 4 cmc No 5 cmc Anything above this is actually not relevant because wurmcoil I'd rather cast and gain life than discard as a counter.

It just doesnt seem like it does more than draw you cards which really you don't need more than simply digging with eggs and ancient stirrings. I don't think it's very good but maybe I'm missing something? The mirrorpool land on the other hand mmmmmmmm :) I'd love to double pyroclasm or double wurmcoil.
