Hi all,
My instructor is looking to set me up with a somewhat more challenging practice routine. One of his suggestions, which I am to work up to, is playing my scales in eighth notes at 120bpm (so, effectively, quarter notes at 240.)
He's a band director, so I generally trust his judgment, but he's also not a trombonist (he plays high brass.) From my perspective down in amateur land, that seems like a freakishly fast tempo to work the slide.
Can a seasoned trombonist assure me that this plan is actually practical?
