I‘ve heard that teachers‘ experiences vary greatly between districts. And aside from general politics, no two schools, no two years, no two classes are the same. But I do think that the more structural protections we have in place, the better.
The burnout thing goes quite deep it seems, here teachers on my level make an average starting salary of low six figures and we still have a lot of people burning out and I get why. It‘s just the curse I‘m sure you‘re also aware of: you can always do more work. the more you care, the more of yourself you give.

Fellow teacher from the other side of the big pond here: That sounds amazing and he does appear to be a great pick.
Happy you‘ve seen positive development, hope you are generally treated well as a teacher. Teachers where I live are very privileged (and we still have a lot of folks burning out, it just isn‘t an easy job) and I think about teachers in the US a lot.
