Low dose radiation as treatment for TN?
Post Body

I developed Trigeminal Neuralgia, Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalgia, and post-herpetic neuralgia after contracting Ramsey Hunt Syndrome (shingles in the ear). My pain has been mostly unresponsive to most types of pain relief. The wearing down of the myelin sheath and no compression makes me ineligible for MVD and Gamma Knife.

My neurologist said there’s a radiation oncologist in my area that does a low dose radiation treatment for Trigeminal Neuralgia. Has anyone else heard of this type of treatment? He’s had several patients with atypical TN that found good relief with this treatment option. Has anyone else tried it and had results?
