After three significant problems with my Electra Vale 9D EQ S in the same month (twice being the headset bearings failing spectacularly), I traded in for an Allant . My local Trek shop (shoutout Trek Slabtown of Portland) was super understanding and hooked me up.
The Allant is far more comfortable, feels more stable and sturdy, and much faster. I can easily hit 28mph whereas the Vale struggled to get past 22.
Unfortunately this bike seems to have a faulty Intuvia display, so my string of bad luck appears to be continuing. I really like the bike otherwise, so I’m probably just going to suck it up and pay for a Purion 200 or Kiox 300 retrofit.
Also pictured are some fenders from Portland Design Works that I’ll be putting on :)
Yeaaaah my body is kinda borked from labor jobs, a stagger or low step is absolutely mandatory for me nowadays lol. Swinging my leg over is difficult on a good day, having the option to cheese it is really nice.
Some seem to, some don’t. I’m not sure why.

Pictures really don’t do it justice! Especially on a typical gloomy Portland day. The metallic looks so great in sunlight.
