Hey guys ,
looking for any advice from people who have fought with Air BnB over bad listings and won. Essentially this has been a disaster since I moved in at the beginning of the month , it was listed as a house but is actually half a duplex with a TERRIBLE neighbor and a terrible neighborhood. I had been doing my best to suck it up due to being in a HCOL area and needing to save money and there's a lack of affordable housing around here. But it all came to a head yesterday when the neighbors had an altercation , led to one neighbors dog charging me and my dogs , I was basically just caught in the middle of the fight between neighbors. But police were involved and at this point , I NEED to move. Even the cop told me he is here all the time and I should move. I made sure he made an official report so it is all documented, and then I started filing a complaint via Air BnB safety. They determined that no Terms/Conditions were violated by my host and have basically hung me out to dry saying I will be on the hook for cancelling if I move and now have stopped responding to my messages. So, if anyone has any advice on escalating this and getting out of this Air BnB without paying crazy cancellation fees, I would appreciate your advice ! Now I'm just hunting for some housing that won't kill my budget ... Many thanks in advance for any help !
