Update Hospital says I have to retake the certification in order to start the contract. So it looks like I’m looking for a new contract. So I’m supposed to start a new contract on Monday. Hadn’t received my first day instructions yet, so I reached out to my onboarding contact. She was notified today that the facility requires IV certification. Ok too easy, I’m IV certified. Have been for 10 years. They want my certificate. Except I never got one because it was integrated into my nursing program. My nursing license says IV certified, Nursys says IV certified. Facility says that’s not good enough. Onboarding asked if I would be willing to retake the certification in order to start the position. Are you kidding me?!? I’ve turned down 3 higher paying positions because this facility is in the area I want to be in. I took 3 weeks off between contracts and I’m going to have to start dipping in to my savings soon. Not to mention the 14 hours I spent doing Health Streams last week. Fml.
