ER nurses specifically, how often are you sent home/cancelled due to low census while on contract?
Post Body

Will be starting my first contract soon and am preparing for this possibility. I’m ER. At my home facility, we never, ever downsize ER staff. The floors will get shifts cut due to low census but the mentality is “anything can happen in the ER” so even if it’s a slow night and there’s 5 patients in the ER, nobody goes home.

Comments

Low census days in the ER are non. Existent. It does not matter if all the staff nurses are sitting around twiddling their thumbs comma you can go from nothing two a full on mci in thirty seconds
