I want to 'warn' the community without, shall we say...making claims that could result in litigious actions. So, to that end. I will say that I choose to leave a facility in located in Glendive Montana before my contract was complete. Instead of talking about that, I choose to focus on how challenging it is to support the facility from the point of living outside it.
Unless you are used to a town of 4,500(ish) permanent residents, Glendive Montana is a difficult town to live in. No, the people are MOSTLY reasonable and there are actually some VERY bright spots when it comes to individuals. If you are used to modern conveniences like, a grocery store with the freshest of vegetables, Fast food beyond Subway and Pizza hut, and places that are open 24 hours, you're pretty much out of luck. Yes, there are two restaurants open 24 hours ( A dinner named Penny's, and the YRI) and while the food is serviceable, it is NOT what you want to live on for 3 months of your life unless you are studying for your next role in the remake of "The Whale". There is a decent coffee shop, but it's only open from 10AM to 5 PM. I was enjoying it until one day they felt the NEED to post a religious manifesto requiring a takeover of the government placed on every single table. (https://ifapray.org/blog/a-national-decree/) Oh, and shout out to the "Oasis Bar" for cheap fried food served nice and hot at a very decent price.
Yes, there is the Makoshika park, which is wonderful. Yes there is a music shop that legitimately has a T-rex skeleton, and there are other 'amusing' places, but this town is NOT for most people. even "If only for 13 weeks". Want something 'kind of interesting, like a WallyMart? 78 miles to Miles city. Want a Costco? 220 to Billings, enjoy the views of the refineries while you're there!
Thanks in advance for not explicitly asking me to name the facility, no I won't even say it in DM's.
