Working only half the year?
Post Body

Hello, been traveling for 4 years so far and thanks to travel nursing I only work half the year, but I feel I may be playing with fire by not having medical insurance. I opt out of mine but thinking of the future it may be safer for me to get private medical insurance to cover the six months I'm off?

Does anybody do this where you are off many months of the year, decide to not pay for the insurance the company offers, and just get your own private insurance?

I am Mid 20s. No health problems or medications needed, but you never know what happens.

Thanks in advance!

Addendum:

I make a nurse's salary working half the year and debt free. At this point, the stress and my free time is worth more than any extra money I would be making with 4 contracts instead of the 2 contracts I currently do.
