UK to Sharm el-Sheikh tips
Post Body

Google searches haven’t been much help as most information is really old, so hoping a question on here will help.

So I’m off to Sharm tomorrow with my friend and kids but it’s been about 15 years since I last went and can’t remember much.

The main question I have is about the tipping culture and how much, etc. I know tipping culture is big there but with the GBP being so strong against the Egyptian pound at the moment (it was 10 Egyptian pounds to £1 last time I went t and now it’s about 60 to £1) I don’t want to get caught out tipping too much, or too little.

We are going all inclusive but how much and when should I tip the following: - porter who takes the bags to the room - pool/bar staff. I know tipping the pool waiters well can be good so that they can reserve beds, get drinks quick, etc - housekeeping - restaurant staff - taxi driver. We have private transfers from the airport but do we tip the driver?

Also any tips on good excursion companies to use, etc that don’t rip you off would be great
