What is the most cost effective way to travel to Banff in the winter?
Post Body

I am proposing to my girlfriend the 2nd week of December and we are traveling from Jacksonville, FL - Banff.

I wanted to see where to find the best deals? Whether it be a travel agent, direct, or 3rd party.

We are staying for 5 nights and would like to stay as close to the town center as possible. There are a couple hotels we are looking at.

One of the hotels we like had an offer on Priceline for about $2000 ($1000/pp). This included the flight ā€” American with a 40 min layover in DAL.

Anyone have any experience or suggestions for traveling here? Looking for a nice (4 star) experience and while the budget is somewhat malleable, Iā€™d prefer to spend the money as efficiently as possible.
