Iām sure this has been said before, but if pronouns do not have to align with your gender, then using āheā for a trans woman isnāt misgendering, right? I mean technically she could use any pronouns, thereās a million different ones out there, itās a guessing game at this point.
This is why I donāt understand that whole argument, third person pronouns have always been about gender. According to Oxford Dictionary:
Pronoun - āthird-person pronoun by which an individual wishes to be referred to in order to indicate their gender identityā
He - āused to refer to a man, boy, or male animal previously mentioned or easily identifiedā
She - āused to refer to a woman, girl, or female animal previously mentioned or easily identifiedā
You canāt just change the definition of words for shits and giggles, youāre not the centre of the world. This especially applies for people who use neo/noun pronouns (e.g. bun/bunself, star/star self, xey/xem, ze/zim). For starters, no way am I embarrassing myself and calling you that, but also, how do you expect me to remember? Neo/noun pronouns are basically a mood board but in word form. Just slap any word you like onto your bio.
It makes zero sense, I will use they/them if I have to. But thatās my limit, personally.
