All characters and participants must be 18

Don’t we all sometimes wish we were someone else? I know I do. And while obviously that’s not happening in real life, I’d love to play pretend with someone for a bit. Write a story about someone whose life changes in a massive way. How, you might ask? Well, there are options.

1. Backpacking takes a turn

My character is a college student trying to do what most college students try to do: find themselves. Taking a gap year, she backpacks her way around the world until she finds herself - as she’s transformed into someone of the country she’s backpacking through. This would likely mix together race change and cultural change, maybe with some identity death involved along the way.

1. The lives of the rich and famous

In this one, my character would find herself waking up in the body of a celebrity. Maybe she’s there for a reason, maybe it’s purely random, but the fun of this is playing out how she might handle it. She might nervously try to stick to their public image, or maybe she decides to become a sex icon. Maybe she lives out a successful but normal career, or maybe she ends up succumbing to the temptations of Hollywood, becoming an addict or some other less than ideal fate.

When it comes to celebrities, I have options, but I think that long list would just clutter this post up so I’d be happy to discuss with you.

1. The 1950s dream

My character is a modern young woman, the kind who would have a nightmare of a time in the mid-twentieth century - which is exactly where she’s going to find herself. Waking up in a 1950s hotel for women, she has to figure out how to navigate this nightmare she’s never going to wake up from.

1. Taking fandom to a new level

Similar to the celebrity prompt, this features a character waking up as someone else. However, this time it’s waking up as a fictional character. There’s a lot of possible fandoms for this, but like with the celebrity option I think that it would clog this post to get into the weeds right here. So if this interests you, let me know and I’ll go over some names, but possible fandoms include Star Wars, Marvel, DC, and more.

A bit more specific than that, but if there are maybe shows or movies that aren’t traditionally fandom things, I’d love to explore this with that too and we can talk that over and see if we have any overlap if you’re interested in such an idea.

1. The world is too much sometimes

My character is worn thin, to say the least. The state of the world takes its toll, work or college is exhausting, what’s a girl to do? The answer, as it turns out, is bimbofication. Why stress and worry all the time when you could simply embrace not having to think anymore?
