I spent the entire last half of the year saving for a cruise after a group of my friends spontaneously planned and went on one without me. It's okay, I don't hold it against them. I couldn't afford to go or had the time off from work. The whole crew is still paying off that last trip so they're not available this time around. Not usually a fan of going on thing on my own, I debate back and forth on pulling the trigger on making the reservation for the 7 day itinerary. Knowing I would regret not going, I book myself a junior suite with a non refundable deposit. This way it forces me to go to not lose the money. I know I need the break from the day to day of life and it's about time I treat myself to a little R&R and put my needs first. The price truly wasn't too bad either. Reviews for the Nurturing Seas cruise line seemed very solid too. Looks like there is a lot of pampering to be had in a massive state of the art cruise ship. Everything about it looked sleek, clean, and comfortable.

It's Sunday morning and the port is alive with palpable energy from the various guests waiting to board. I notice a pattern amongst the crowd rather quickly. There's quite a lot of pregnant women in this check in line.... I don't think much of it and keep on mindlessly scrolling on my phone to wait my turn. I finally get my turn at the counter and present my passport and documentation to the gentleman behind the counter. Dude is HUGE. I bet if he sneezed he'd rip that suit jacket at the seams. Most of the working crew seems to be men too.

"Good morning, Mr. Coleman and thank you for booking your first cruise experience with us. Allow me to confirm the details of your reservation. Junior suite with an ocean view, internet package" I smile at the acknowledgement of the note I made on my reservation when I booked. "There is just one thing, sir... this is... um.. a maternity cruise."

My face scrunches at the revelation. Well, my observation makes sense now. "So what does that mean for me?"

"Well, for starters, the entire ship activity itinerary is filled with events surrounding being pregnant. Pregnant yoga, Lamaze sessions, even our medical need have been fully curated to someone who is expecting. Even our menus are fully dedicated to feeding, energizing, and pampering an expecting mother. Everything anyone would need to really ooze femininity and motherly energy. There's a few excursions for the partners' but it's really only one a night and it's mostly having the bar reserved for them post dinner to unwind. I've made a note to allow you to use your drink package due to the unorthodox nature of your reservation. You're free to join in on the nightly bar sessions as well."

He pauses in thought before continuing to address me. "Adding to this quite the unique situation. We don't allow solo boarding on this cruise. Before you ask, it's due to the delicateness of our primary passengers. We have gentleman members of our staff room with those single travelers so they can have a partner during our couple activities. We can't make any exceptions to this rule for liability reasons. I hope you understand. You'll have access to all our amenities regardless if you're expecting, but just know that in the eyes of the itinerary, system, and staff you're classified as the expecting mother in the suite you're staying. Our sole goal is making sure our guests are ready to be parents by the end of the week." He slides me my room key and welcome packet. "Your assigned crew member will be awaiting you at the suite doors. We really do hope you enjoy your time with us."

Okay, I've been sitting on this idea all day after kind of having a dream about it last night. In the dream, I was on this cruise that would have me gradually become a woman through the various activities onboard and disembark with a big and round pregnant belly. I'm looking for a GM to take over the world of the boat and itinerary who is willing to play multiple characters like the general staff, the other sailors, my assigned roommate, and others.
