Some background;
I am MtF Trans. I've been working at my current job for the past 2 years in the IT department presenting as my AGAB. I love my job; And my employer seems to be more progressive than most. But this is still nerve-wracking for me. 😬
Several days ago my employer sent out an email regarding National coming out day on October 11th. The email contained an open invitation for LGBT employees to participate.
I plan on coming out as trans; I've been given the forms I need to fill out to change my name at work etc. And I plan on going to work as my true self starting that day.
I was wondering if anyone on this sub has had experiences coming out at work. Did it negatively impact your job? Is there any advice you can give in these situations?
I feel like I have better odds of success here than anywhere else I've worked for previously. But it's still terrifying.
