Bike Recommendation
Post Body

I used to have a CBR1000RR and racked up 30k miles on it. I’m a bigger guy, 6’1 280 and was very comfortable on it. A friend of mine is an instructor and claims a liter bike will be too hard to learn on for track days, as it’s not very forgiving and the extra weight is harder to throw around in corners. For someone who has 60k miles on the road over the last 20 years but never been on a track, is a 1000 too hard to learn on? I’m all for a 600 but actually never rode one so don’t know what to expect.

I pushed hard in the mountains but never dragged my knee as I didn’t want to risk that on a road knowing it could slide out one day at that lean angle. I thought it was best to save that for the track so eventually sold it before I had a wreck, and bought a more tame bike for the street.
