Tech-air 10 any better now

My friend just had quite the get off this weekend and the Tech-air 5 he was wearing I'm sure saved his collar bone. I was planing on getting the RST airbag suit this winter since I have a non airbag RST and like it quite a lot. I saw that the Tech-air 10 is really the only option for hip protection at the moment. But reading the reviews of the Tech-air on here and some of the forums it is not performing at 100%. Have any of the issues been resolved or is it still a pass?
