Hey everyone! Iโm looking to get into track days and wanted some feedback on a question I had.
Iโve been riding for about 2 and a half years (about 15,000 miles in that span of time) and was originally thinking about getting track fairings for my Daytona 675R. My mechanic, who rides a lot of track, said that would be a lot of bike for a beginner on the track and suggested I get a 400.
I understand what heโs talking about, as I was able to keep the throttle pinned and lean pretty aggressively on my R3, which would be beneficial for learning on the track, but with my current knowledge and skill level, I feel confident bringing the 600 to the track and learning the nuisances of controlling a more powerful machine in that environment.
What are your thoughts?
Edit: I feel like I should say that I spent my first 1.5 years riding an R3 and got very very confident cornering on windy roads that vary in elevation. I put about 9,000 miles on that bike in all kinds of conditions and rode the bike pretty hard during those miles.
Never done a track day tho.
