Is buying a 3rd gen a bad idea right now?

I really like 3rd gen Tundras, but the engine issues are something i really don't want to get involved with.
Are there any years or trims of 3rd gens that have a clean bill of health from the issues they are plagued with?
Or should I just steer clear and get a 2.5gen instead (which i also love).
