List of the service package below
I bought a 2013 5.7 4wd back in February and now inspection is due, and it's ready for an oil change which I can do myself. Since it's new to me, I'd like to get everything looked at by a professional, because I'm no car expert but can do things like oil change, air filter, etc. But I have two main hindrances on bringing it to the dealer 1) they don't give 2 flying F's about the truck and will want to charge me for things I don't need which brings me to 2) the 90k service package is $2k and includes random stuff I do not need, like oil change and replacing the cabin air filter (lol I can do that in the autozone parking lot in 3 minutes for 1/10 of what the dealer would charge me). But at the same time I'd like my breaks checked out and sounds like a good idea to get all the fluids refreshed. Any advice here?
My main concern is that it's definitely not a good idea to blindly book a $2k service package without doing the research on what I can inspect/do myself. It's probably a way for them to get gullible customers to easily sign up for service packages. I also know someone who brought their highlander to this particular dealer for an oil change, and they literally forgot to put oil back in it.
