Double cab vs crewmax?

In the market for a 2014-2018 tundra. I am 6,3 and have a 4 year old. He is likely going to be tall (77th percentile) right now and is in a car seat. As he gets taller, is the double cab roomy enough? My dad sent us pics of their 14 DC and it doesn’t look big enough. I’ve sat in the back of their 20 crewmax though and it’s plenty of room for me. Seems like the DC ones fall more in our price range.
