Let me preface by saying I qualify for the VSPP T Drive discount thanks to my step dad, so not sure if that makes a difference on my decision or not. According to that, it seems as if I will get the truck at invoice (or close to it). Was almost sold on it, but decided to come here to check on what people dislike, and man….I’m hesitant now. Have always been a Ford guy, but I have always loved the reliability of Toyota. Wife has a 2017 4Runner with 0 issues. I know in ‘22 Toyota revamped the Tundra so it’s still too early to tell on how its reliability will be, but give me your honest opinions. Will be going to the dealership on Tuesday. I want to know your pros and cons, any issues, etc. I’ve read a lot of the posts on here and know the early models had their fair share of issues, but I will be specifically looking at the ‘24’s dude to the discount only being applicable towards those.
Thanks!
Edit: How’s the ride quality? Anything will be an improvement for me, but ride quality is very important. I’m coming from an ‘07 F150 with 300k miles and it rides like absolute shit, though I’m not surprised with how many miles the truck has. Also, my local dealer only has the iMax if that makes a difference.
I have a ‘19 F150 and have driven a couple since I traded my last Tundra. I checked out the different trims and did drive a new one and wasn’t super super impressed. All that to say that you should go play around in a new F150 if you really want to compare apples to apples. Obviously a 2007 F150 isn’t a great comp. Something like a Powerboost F150 is probably as close to a Tundra Hybrid as you’ll get just in terms of creature comforts, powertrain, maybe even reliability, etc.
