Spot rust on a 2012 Taco. Worth buying?
Post Body

Hey y’all. First post here.. so hopefully this is allowed. I’m coming over from a Land Rover. Finally decided reliability is something I need 🤣.

Anyways, I found a Taco with pretty low kms. 2012 Tacoma SR5 dual cab, 160,000kms. Mechanically it is sound and drives like new. The frame looks decent considering the age, nothing crazy.

However. There is some rust on the body, mainly around the windows and roof. I’ve seen similar rust (rail rust) from train transport etc. that doesn’t look too bad to repair. But it looks like the previous owner had a roof rack and left a few chips on the roof unattended to.

Here are some pics.

It’s priced fairly well considering the market where I am - Western Canada.

It’s actually the first Taco I’ve looked at, so I’m unsure what to think. I love the clean, low km base to work with but the roof rust is putting me off a bit.

Hope you guys can chime in and help a future? Taco owner.

Thanks!!
