Hello folks
I wanted to describe a strange (to me) incident with my GHH Max Platinum today. The intent behind this post is to provide information as well as to collect some wisdom from fellow owners.
So this morning, I was cleaning my car with the keyfob in my pocket. Unlocked the passenger door, kept cleaning stuff inside the car, lowered the window and then closed the door ( car beeped for 4-5 times but I dint paid any special attention assuming that its beeping because window is half down). Repeated the same process on all doors (except the boot). The cleaning was done and now I sat on the driver seat and saw the message -“parking brake is not available”. I tried starting the car, but nothing happened. The warning kept flashing. I accidentally pressed the button to open the boot door and heard the boot door unlock but it dint lift up. I went outside to check what has happened and tried opening the gate completely using the button on the gate (one beside the reversing camera). Nothing happened. I came inside the car to find the car totally dead. No more warning signals, no response to the push button start. Nothing happened upon repeatedly pressing the brake. No response to the lock/unlock from the keyfob.
Gave up and called the RSA. They offered to jump start the car and could not offer any more explanation to the issue. The guy came and jump started the car using the fuse box under the hood (he dint touch the battery! I dint know that about the hybrids). Received all sort of error messages on the dash and they went away one by one. Drove the car a bit to remove the tire pressure error. Now the car is running fine.
I have no idea what lead to this jump starting situation. The car is just one month old and regularly driven (daily 30-40kms).
Could anyone provide and insights to this situation? What could have led to this? Faced anything similar?
My key takeaways from the whole process: - Hybrids are never jump started using the battery directly (this is what the RSA guy told me)
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
